vtgts300kw is infamous around these parts
everyone is saying how the numbers are low etc.

but has anyone thought that bmw might actually know what they are doing? and they have been testing this for years? look at the m5, that on paper has hardly any tourqe, and we all know what sort of car that is.

I have to agree here. My E46s had 262 Trq and it was a beast thats crazy low I thought then. I know BMW knows what they are doing but I still think they should have boosted this trq into the 300s

I am sure that one mod (exhaust, or intake, etc) to the M3 will bring it into the 300's+ tq.

But how many mods would it take to get to 400ftlbs??? OR perhaps a better question is how much would that cost....

Now ask the same question for the 335... I love the M3 and I'm really considering this one, but on paper, the 335 is a much better buy.

However, I do think that this car will be a pleasant surprise when it gets on the road... as someone else mentioned, the V10 version of this motor only has about 90ft-lbs more... on a car that weighs roughly 500lbs more... (where's the evil grin smiley?)

yea, for a 500 hp car, its not that impressive! considering that the 997TT has 480 hp and runs mid to high 11s and traps are high are 123+, the m5 with its measly mid 12s and 115 trap are not too great of an accomplishment. as we all know, there was a 997S bone stock that trapped 114.8 mph.

i think the m5 is a pretty good car once you get over the so so looks. but when it comes to performance i think mercedes sedans (even though im not a big fan) have it beat easily.

Do you know the M5 is heavier than 997TT or 997S by couple hundred pounds.....
