Redline Speed Worx (RSW) E92 S65 Maintenance Packages

The S65!!!!

Some see it as a blessing, some see it as a curse, the “death” of the proper M3 engine. Its funny how now the M3 is turbocharged people miss this motor more...Well, hate it or love it, this is one MEAN v8.

8250 rpm redline, 4 liters, 12:1 compression, 400+hp, 300 ft lbs of torque, it’s really quite a piece of engineering. One of the kickers for us is the “condition based service” intervals. This is great, because for the first time in a long time does a manufacturer actually tell you that the mileage an time are not good measures for maintenance intervals…. Which is the truth! 5 thousand miles on a high way commute back and forth to work versus five thousand miles around Lime Rock, are two totally different sets of demands, just like two years of being ran every day versus two years of running once a weekend, are two totally different amounts of wear and tear.

There are a few things to do though to keep your E9X M3 running in tip top shape!

The first is our basic oil service kit, OEM Filter and Liqui Moly 10w60 GT1 oil. This is recommended to do every 5k miles to 6 months.

It’s very important to keep the inside of this motor well lubricated and being that it takes 10 liters. If you’re a gorilla with tools we keep the drain plugs in stock too, but definitely not something you have to change EVERY oil change, every 3-4 should keep you safe.

Doing frequent oil and filter changes with high quality oil will ensure proper lubrication and tolerances between components. We don’t want to change rod bearings now do we!!!

The next is the slightly more involved service procedure which also takes care of air filtration. This kit is comprised of Air Intake Filter, Cabin Air Filters (4), and Spark Plugs (8). BMW recommends doing the Filters once a year, the spark plugs once every 40k.

The E9X M3 has 4 cabin filters. Most BMW’s only have two but the ones on this chassis are very small so the engineers doubled up on the numbers.

Secondly is the Air Intake Filter which I have to say looks like one of the most performance oriented OEM filter solutions I have ever seen.

Then we have the sparkplugs. They are high quality as OEM but like anything in a highly stressed performance engine, something to change out more frequent than recommended to keep the car running in PEAK operation.

At this interval BMW also suggests servicing the transmission and differential. Since the parts differ between the DCT and 6 Speed the parts aren’t listed here but they can be purchased separately on an order by order basis.

This is what you need to do to take care of your M3. Now that you have all the information and access to all the parts at great prices there is no excuse not to properly maintain your car! Please pm, email, or call at 908 223 7477!
