Hi Everyone
I live in Capetown SA and have a black/beige 2007 boxster S and an white 83 sc widebody(original).
i have joined this forum specifically to get feedback and info. regarding upping wheel size to 20inches on my boxster 3.4 - with probably 245/30/20 front and 285/25/20 rear
Does anyone have experience with 20's on either a boxster/cayman or 911?
thanks

Welcome,

I was think the same thing after seeing them on a blk/blk boxster at a show in Houston, TX. I asked the guy and he told me that he went with OZ superlegga blk/silver/mach. (5 inch lip on the rear). they were 20in (285/30 rear) and kept the 19 inch fronts (235/35) He also dropped it 1/4 inch and man it looks awesome...I wish I took a pic. It's so low he can't run over an acorn, but it looks good.

I have the 911 18'' carrera rims and I'm OK with them for now. After he told me how much he spent to get the guys to do it correctly (you'll need the spacers for the rear rims) I wasn't worth it to me. You could buy a supercharger kit for the price of his set of rims and tires.

welcome! you'll need 7 mm spacers for the rears. this is what we had to do w/ our boxster. we had the same exact rims on our 996 and did not need them, but the boxster did so they wouldn't rub on the shocks.

Did you use the wheels from the 996 on the boxster? OZ supplies different wheels for the two cars on the rear.
