My friends' 07 Caymen, (new in August,) now has a radio problem. Frozen in the "ON" position, high volume, no controls work. Anybody else? Is there a secret reset button, or just yank a fuse till it goes back to dealer> (90 min drive, ea way)

Any thoughts? No mods or fiddleing have been done.

 

This happens every now and again to me. I'm not sure which radio your friend has, but my PCM2.1 will occasionally bug out for about half a day, maybe once every two or three months. There isn't a whole lot I've tried to do as it just "comes back on" after awhile.

I have noticed that I need to turn down the volume when I get home (usually have it up fairly loud). When I go to start the car up early in the morning, not only does the tubi exhaust wake everyone up, but the volume from the previous evening is sort of "stuck" for about 5 seconds.

These gremlins just seem to "go away". I'm surprised your 997 hasn't had the same issues, after all I believe they are the same components.
