350Z (GT) vs carman (non-S)!!
I don't particularly care too much for either car. :P I keed, actually, having owned my Z for 1 1/2 years and putting 26,000+ miles on her to date I have not had one problem with my car. The Z is fun but not fast by any stretch of the mind (nor the Cayman) but I'm pretty sure everyone who is purchasing these cars knows that.
Either car you pick is built well; the Z will just most likely be A LOT cheaper. It all depends how much money you want to spend. I have buddies pushing 550+ hp in their TT Z's all day long. I have a base model Z myself and picked it up for $26,000 in 2006.
350z = affordable fun
Cayman = more expensive / Porsche name
Can't go wrong with either in the end, enjoy!

I also think it really depends where you plan on going with the car. If you are going to mod the car you should definitly get the Nissan 350z as they can be turned into road course or drag monsters for half the cost of the Porsche.
If you are going to keep the car stock 100% go with the Porsche as stock for stock it is a much better all around car.
I had a 350z and now I am in a 996tt and sad enough I still miss my Z once in a while because of the pure fun and modability of the car. It was also always in the back of my head that parts are cheap if I break something.

Oh, my Cayman was totaled when someone T-Boned me. I am now driving a 996TT and 355.
You are wrong in so many ways. I owned both cars. You cannot compare a Z to a Cayman. My Cayman "s" was modified with the RINSPEED imola kit and C5-1 rims. I ran that car in the Targa Trophy San Diego to Palm Springs and Back Rally. It handled like a dream. My Z and G35 (both modified with twin turbos, coilovers, bbks etc) could not handle any where close and did not have the pep of my Cayman. Cayman all the way Heres a picture

Dood. I don't think I am. I don't consider RINS-PEE kits, or wheels "modding". If you do, then maybe you also think the Vornado or Go-fast stickers add hp to.
.
In sum, you be a dip of the highest degree.
Oh, Mr. 14 posts, you should think before you attempt to express a thought.

Irony at it's finest. The all knowledgeable tuner tough guy takes his car to a *Professional* Tuner, for quad tips and gets (cough) it chipped by Gee-ack,. "Yeah baby, SS Auto Clone headers and RACE straight pipes, so much power it will do Wheelies!!! That may impress you, but a questionable 35 MAX hp gain is what little boys like to brag about. It's no surprise you fit the bill.
Is that what you call modding?? You prove you are KING dip-****.

I love the Cayman but before ditching the 911 I would buy the RUF 3400K Cayman for its potential, but many here would buy the Cayman just to show off:
Lets take a look at mister_jkd he is probably (judging from his so useful comments) the rolemodel of the arrogant guy in the german car wanting strangers at the stoplights to aknowledge him because he failed to earn some real friends.

Lost in all of your comments is confirmation what you actually have for a whip.
I know what I have in the garage and it ain't no fiction and does not require modding. Do you high five yourself when you make your "smart" posts? (Perhaps your "game" is better suited to the fictional world of Second Life.)
How so Tune Meister?
"Lost in all of your comments is confirmation what you actually have for a whip."
The whip dood is that I actually have automotive knowledge that allows me to tune my own cars.. That knowledge extends much further that simple bolt ons, of which you seem incapable of doing yourself.
The irony of calling me "ignorant" while you have others "tune" your car, by *modding* = chipping, CAI intake, and exhaust (cough, cough). And lest we forget, a BODY KIT, WHEELS and suspension bolt ons. A Chimpanzee (with some training) with a credit card and a magazine could do that. You out do yourself in that regard pecking out asinine statements.
My original point was that the Z has many many times more in after market support while also being easier to work on is undeniable and self evident. That is plain to see for anyone with one eye and half a brain. You on the other hand brilliantly argue the contrary.
Call me out, and make more of jack *** out of yourself. I have advanced degrees in engineering. You on the other end sound like a little internet tough guy with mommy and daddy paying for your toys. You are complete and utter joke. Run along before you get hurt. Twerp.

The Italians have cornered the market on arrogance. With the Enzo, it's rightly so.
BTW, who said I drive a german car? You don't read english very well do you
Racism wont make you a winner... and who said I'm Italian? I guess you don't read english very well either, but what is your excuse for that?
PS: Some people have a hard time controlling themselves through the anonymity of the internet, there is no reason anyone here has to suffer your verbal abuse.
We replied to this thread to contribute some knowledge, not to enter into a pissing contest with you here. There is obviously nothing constructive happening involving you, because when you fail to attack the arguments of your opponent, you have to resort to attack the person. If discussing on a forum requires some degree of self-censorhip, aka maturity, then so be it.
