2003 Boxster S - Daily Driver/Track Car ???

I have been looking for a daily driver and there is a very clean 2003 Porsche Boxster S Tip for $25K with 50k miles. I would also like to track the car but I am hesitant to pull the trigger because of the tip. What should I do? I cannot find a manual anywhere at that price. Thanks!

Yeah definitely hold out on a manual. I use my 987 as a Daily Driver and I love it! It has about 42k on the chassis and 9k on the motor/tranny.

How much track are you looking to do with it...???? I DD mine for three years and tracked it for the last year until I blew the engine... as far as the TIP vs. 6speed... drive both. I have driven a tip on the track (in manual mode of course) and its surprisingly really good. It held gear w/o upshifting until right around 7000 rpm (redline is 7200)... you will lose some power. Also there are cars out there in that price range ALL the time.

Thanks for the advise. I would like to hold out for a manual but after looking for the past three weeks in the newspaper, online and ebay...........no luck. TIP Boxsters seems to all over the place. I can get a 03 regular Boxster with a manual for $20K. What would be the choice between a TIP Boxster S or a manual Boxster?

I agree with holding out for the manual S. That is, unless you are sitting in stop and go traffic for 4 hours a day.
