That is one truly amazing interior. I wonder if you would be able ot ask the shop to price out individual components? I wouldnt mind shipping certian pieces over to get redone while the car is in storage.

I had two different shops work on it at two different times. Both did excellent work. I don't know if they would do mail-order work, but I don't see why not. Email me at "ofishbein at earthlink dot net" and I will send you their contact information.

Gulf Fabrics is the US Distributor so I went right to them because I wanted to make sure I got the real thing and not some knock-off. They will sell to individuals by the yard. Their information appears below:

Gulf Fabrics, Inc.
3709 N. Armenia Avenue
Tampa, FL 33607-1303
1-800-237-6677 (tel)
813-875-2707 (tel)
813-348-9540 (fax)

They told me the color Porsche uses is "light black", color code 9002. It matches my Porsche OEM steering wheel and shifter pretty well, but I expect that there could be some difference in runs, as in any fabric. It's always best if you have everything done at once from the same batch.

Alcantara makes two specs: "Cover" for seating surfaces (it has a backing attached), and "pannel" for non-seating applications.

There. Now you know everything I do about Alcantara. Good luck!

Upholstery by AJ in Northridge - and I would definitely use them again. Another good shop is Rich and Famous Upholstery in North Hollywood. Sorry I don't have their numbers handy but they should be easy enough to find online (I know that Rich and Famous has a webpage). If you are near the valley, you should probably visit both, see their work, and then decide if they are a good fit.
