If you have seen the RS60 you know what I mean ..Also Suncoast is providing the Plastic Trim Piece to complete the look the RS60 has . You should PM Suncoast ASAP If you are Interested as there will be a limited shipment of these plastic trim pieces.Works for Cayman/Boxster

Hey there guys,

It seems Porschepet has beaten me to the punch! We have found out that if you have a 987 (Boxster or Cayman), then with just one trim piece you can remove the cluster hood and have an open setup, just like the RS60.

These pieces are not currently available from Porsche just yet. It looks like they'll hit our shores in about 6-8 weeks. We've set it up where we'll probably receive the first 20 or so trim pieces that come into the states.

I'll do a interest list here just like I have on the CaymanClub. If any of you guys are interested in getting your hands on one when they get here, shoot me a PM with your name, and phone number and/or email address and I'll start up a list. This, of course, is not binding in any way and I'll be able to give you guys info regarding pricing when they show up.

Here's a picture of a 2006 Boxster we had the shop yesterday that we tried it out on:

This is how it will look before you get the trim piece from suncoast .. Kinda like Riding a Motorcycle .I must say after only 2 days of driving with the Removal I really Like it .It just feels different and I like the fact you can see the top of the Gauges from outside the car ..

I dont know what I think.

I am sure people will do this mod, but one of my favorite things about my car is how well the gauges are hidden from glare.

I think this is one mod I may pass on, but after seeing one I reserve the right to change my mind.

I watched our tech do it. He pulled off the trim piece below the gauges (below the gauges). It took some muscling to get it off, but it does just work its way out. Then you'll see two screws holding in the gauges, remove those and remove the gauges. You can disconnect the gauges if you would like, it makes things easier. Then there's about 5 or 6 screws along the hider itself that you remove and then that comes right off. Reassemble with the trim piece and you're done!
