PSE on 2006 Boxster 987

Hi. My first post here.

I have a 2006 Boxster 987 - and I'm thinking of purchasing the OEM Porsche Sports Exhaust. Only problem is that it specifically says that the PSE is only available for the Boxsters 2007+. However, I have heard that you can actually fit it on a 2006 model but basically the only difference is that the switch to activate the PSE, will have a light on when the PSE is actually "OFF" and vice versa.

Hope this makes sense!?

Can anyone shed some light on this?? Is this the only difference? Is it trickier to actually install the PSE on 2005/06 models?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if the PSE will fit the 986. Sorry I can't help you with that. You were looking for a couple pics of my car...

Hey that looks hot with the rear lights. Those lights looks really good against the grey.

Thanks Guys!! I bought the car with 1500 miles on it from a professor who fell in love with a C4S. He had the original window sticker laminated, which included the clear corner markers but I didn't see anything in there about the red tail lights. I didn't buy them and put them on the car. I can only assume either he purchased them and had them installed, or they were a dealer option not on the window sticker. Either way, I like em : )

Yes he was way ahead of his time coz the RS of course has red euro lights! I have a meteor grey car too... except I opted for the Carrera S wheels. I do think that yours is nicer though. I ordered the vinyls... was only $60 bucks... so thought I'd risk it and see if i ilike it.

Hez: I like the Carrera S wheels. In my opinion they look a little more aggressive then the Carrera Classics. I was actually looking to replace the original rims/tires. I really like the HRE P40's, but when I found out how much they cost, along with a set of Michelin PS2's, I suddenly liked the original rims again : )

You have any pictures of your car??

I will have to take some pics soon. Waiting for my red vinyls! I've just had a thought that the red euro lights might not be allowed in Australia!? Not sure. I'm still contemplating PSE for the Porsche, but I hear the sound is not that great esp. for the Boxster (I have a Boxster, not the S) and also coz mine is tiptronic.

He was asking if the PSE would fit a 2006 987, not 986. Dealers say that the newer 987 PSEs only fit on the 07+ 987s that have the 3.4L engine, and that the 05, 06 3.2L 987s cannot fit the PSEs. However, there have been a few people who have been able to work around the issues to get it to work.

Here is a link from Renntech that speaks of it: http://www.renntech.org/forums/index...howtopic=19130

I've never heard a Cayman or Boxtser with PSE. I'd like to hear one. I have PSE on my 911 and it sounds great.
