Need new tires...questions...ideas

I have the Conti's on from the factory and do not really like them; however, these cars go thru the backs 2x as fast as the fronts. So, I was hoping to just get 2 conti rears for now. I guess PCNA is sold out and discontinued the Conti's but TIRERACK is saying they do have 2 conti rears (just not the Porsche specific ones). Anyone know if this would really matter?

If I can't do that, I have looked into Falken and some other options...anyone have any experience? Ideas welcome.

If you do not like the Contis get something else. I love my Bridgestone RE050A. I just brought a second set. You can use it for occasional DE without issues.

Michelin PS2 are my favorite. I've had BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 recently and Pirelli Nero's before that. PS2's are my favorite by far. Only downfall is the high price. Worth it in my opinion though. Hope this helps

I have and love the PS2's, however, the price for the 19" sucks. The other downside is that I have gone thru mine in less than 6K miles and need to replace them. The backs are out of stock, even the Porsche dealer can't get them. All four tires installed will run about $1550 I think. Hmmm, for that I could get the Borla or Remus exhaust , oh well.

I would push PCNA and explain that the Conti's in N rating are not available. It has been known for PCNA to do a deal.

the dealer was saying Porsche had discontinued the Conti's or something...i would normally never be at the dealer but due to my car needing the passenger side window replaced, I figured why not while i have the loaner.

Damon, I did contact tirerack but they really didn't have anything for me and I didnt wanna pay for the PS2's...which I think are "ok" but not outstanding.

I have gone with T1R's just as something new so Ill let ya know what I think.

I had Conti's and did not like them. I guess PS2's are great, but I cannot pay $1500 every 8000mls. Last May I wanted to try something different. I got a set of Falken FX452's. 18" set was $576+labor @ Discount Tire. I have over 9000mls on them and still a lot of tire left. I've been happy.

Yep, it was between the Falken's and Toyo's and I went with the Toyo's because they supposedly have a bit more grip but not quite as good of tread rating. However, the Toyo's have the same longevity rating as the Conti's which unbelievably lasted me 22K miles!

I love PS2s, but their life is the downside.

The Toyos are not bad either, especially for the price.
