Hi! Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. DIY on 2din kits for 987 & 997 owners.
The image below is a vehicle taken shortly after the new head unit went in. I have documented many of the steps in great detail here for anyone interested in doing the install. The write-up is still in rough form but hopefully will still be useful. Pm for info.
Cheers,

The bezel is custom made. Unlike the previous 996/986, the current 997/987 radio & dash has a radius which made it very difficult to manufacture. It was something that had to be done to give any aftermarket 2din installation the look & feel of original manufacturing of Porsche. I also have the 2 inch decal made to apply onto the bezel (pictures will soon be available).
The brackets used to attach onto the radio are also custom (see page 11). The brackets are so well engineered that if you do not tilt the radio (after the brackets have been attached) at the same angle as the dash, it will not slide in to mount (see page 14). It was designed to fit as tight as the OEM radio so that there is no "rattles" from potholes or road bumps.
If you have any questions you have, please do not hesitate to ask.
