Got a problem with my Cayman S and my new rear wheels
Hey guys,
I recently purchased a new set of wheels for my Cayman S. They came of a C4S and I looked at the CEC website before purchasing the wheels and they said that 11in. in the rear will fit. However, what I didnt realize till now was that 11 in. cayman offset would fit not 11 in. C4S offset. I purchased the wheels with 315/25/19 tires (it came with them) hoping that it would fit. Without spacers, the tires sticks out of the fender by about an inch. I was wondering if there is anything I can do. If I went with 295/30/19 tires, do you think it will sit flush with the fender? Here are some pics. I really appreciate your input.
Sorry for the crappy quality.

If it's sticking out that much, then your issue is with the wheels, not the tires. You either need to machine the hub or get spacers.
Switching to a more narrow tire is only going to "rubber band" the tire around the wheel. It may reduce the appearance, but ultimately the wheel will still stick out the same amount.

Yes, I think you have an offset problem. I thought those wheels would work with the correct spacers, though. Do you have any more pics? What is the offset on the C4S wheels?
C4S is widebody but Cayman is narrow, so the offset is wrong. There is nothing you can do except to sell it.

the difference between a 315 and a 295 is 20mm. But given the same wheel, the 295 will be 10mm further in on the outside and 10mm further out on the inside. It looks like it will be close to fitting. But you still may get some rubbing around corners on the outside fender liner. But here's a question - do you have spacers? If so remove the spacer and see if the 315 fits then. In general, our cars are happy with a 285 on stock rims even with a 5mm spacer. You should be able to shoehorn a 295, but a 315 is extreme. Also a 315/25 rides like crap and you are asking for pothole damage to your wheels. A 295 or a 285 will be a lot more sane.
Pull one of the rear wheels. If its a genuine Porsche wheel the height width and offset should be engraved on it. Knowing the width and offset should give us a better idea if there is a chance that it will fit.
Good call. I thought he was already running spacers...
If they stick out that much without spacer best to find the correct wheels that will fit within your wheel well. Trying to get these to fit will only result infurther frustration. Believe me I've been there noy good, my two cents.

If i put spacers on, wouldnt it just make the wheel stick out even more?
