Has anyone has heard about the cayman race series?
Will the cars be race ready, with a cage and fire system? What are the specs and when are they available?

Its going to be a Cayman and Cayman S only series which will run the latter part of the HSR Series. The cars are being built right now at the factory and will be race ready upon customer delivery with a full cage, on board fire system, Racing seats with Harness, 6 Speed and limited slip for 53K for standard Cayman and 63K for Cayman S. Exhaust and Suspension/Tire info pending. They are all white and ready for graphics/wraps. The first race being September at Kentucky Motorsports Park, October 28-30 at Hilton Head, Hilton Head October28-30, Daytona November 5-8 and Sebring December 3-6.

I drove a '09 Cayman at the 'Bahn last Thursday, it's hard to believe how fun these cars are. Pull the weight out, put in a decent suspension, seat, cage, wheels... I am so in!

P.S. the cool historic paint schemes are just icing on the cake.

Wow- great news. I wonder if they will run with R compounds and if so, what the solution to the oil-starvation problem will be.

The series is for new 09 spec cars purchased new from the particapating dealership. The 09's dont have that problem, they have been running them at the Porsche driving school with no problems. They will be running Hoosier R6 tires.
