LED foglight parking bulb install 987 Cayman

cost: $4.95 each bulb
part: BA9s-WHP6-12V 6 High Power LED Bulb
difficulty: 1-5 is 1 super easy
tools needed:
phillips screwdriver
purchased from SUPER BRIGHT LEDS home (not a forum sponsor)
I purchased LED parking light bulbs which are in the foglight housing...
DSCN1593.jpg?t=1234234146
here you can see the difference between the two halogen and LED, they have built in resistors so there is no bulb out warning...
DSCN1598.jpg?t=1234234212
here is the package with the part #'s the old halogen bulbs are in the package so don't get confused...
DSCN1602.jpg?t=1234234275
first remove the foglight shroud...
IMG_0782.jpg?t=1234234017
remove the three screws...
IMG_0783.jpg?t=1234234071
pull out the old bulb by twisting it off and put the new LED in by pushing it in then twisting, the pins do mot match up perfect they are off. It will still hold the bulb in place fine...
DSCN1599.jpg?t=1234234377
here it is on, so bright matches xenons perfect, its much brighter than the factory halogen bulb...
DSCN1594.jpg?t=1234234514
it will fit in you have to turn it at an angle then slide it in...
DSCN1600.jpg?t=1234234454
push it into the housing twist again and thats it, now turn on the parking lights...
DSCN1595.jpg?t=1234234593
here is the halogen...
DSCN1596.jpg?t=1234234653
now side by side...
DSCN1597.jpg?t=1234234689
and both on... (HID foglights are off)
DSCN1603.jpg?t=1234234726
and now all lights on...
IMG_0809.jpg?t=1234234790
cant match xenons better than LEDs.

Does anyone know if the 987 Boxsters use the same bulbs for these lights? The lenses are sure different.

Nope. The 987 Boxster uses wedge-shape 194 bulbs. So, the socket style bulbs posted by OP won't work on the Boxster. SuperBrightLED sells the bulbs. IIRC, it's the same bulb as the overhead interior light.

Lithium,

I am not sure if we discussed you changing your foglight bulbs last time you were here but I am thinking about these...

WLED Miniature Wedge Base bulbs with High Power SMD LEDs

T3-1/4 (#194/168) type bulbs with High Power SMD. Wide Angle LEDs up to 120 degrees. 12 Volt DC operation.
Replaces: 194, 158, 168, 12256, 12961

What are your thoughts on these?

Here is the link for reference...

Thanks,
Rhonda

How do you remove the shrouds? Do you just pull with force?

Nice, looks like the gen 2's now with Bi-xenons since the "fogs" are led DRL's
