help me decide:07 cayman vs 06 slk 55 amg

I know I am asking cayman owners but I hope you guys can help me decide I finally saved up enough money to buy myself a nice car and so far this are my choices, keep in mind the car will be my daily commuter (5 miles each way) lol but still i want something reliable. Please give me your opinions. BTW the prices are pretty mcuh the same at around 38K and both have about 23k miles

There's always room to negotiate, especially in this economy. I imagine that the dealer acquired this vehicle via a trade. In which case, they gave the customer the wholesale price of the vehicle toward a trade. Or they picked it up at auction. In either case, a few grand has probably been tacked onto this vehicle. So put your "war face" on and head into battle ! Start low, you can always come up. The worst they can say is no.

Congrats on saving your money for something you want. Right now is a buyer's market, few people have money to buy nice cars so they are tanking in value. Be sure you get exactly what you want (options and color) or you will have severe buyer's remorse and it will cost dearly to change your mind. Wanting is much more powerful than having.

IMO that Cayman is fairly low optioned for the miles / money. It does not have PASM / Sport Chrono / auto air / 19s / Bose / PSE (these are options I would look for, YVVM). The miles on the 911 are higher so it probably has more wear. Depending on the options of the 911, I might go for it over that Cayman. They are different handling / feeling cars, drive multiple samples of everything you can before you decide.

thank you so much, that is the kind of advice I need. I am scared of the 911 because of the mileage, i know maintenance is expensive but I dont want to pay out my *** to fix something unexpected and the car having more miles has a higher rate of things going wrong.

in regard to the cayman thank you for the info I definetely have no experience nor a lot of knowledge of them so i will start looking for something with more options

The first one looks real clean / has low miles but also has few options.

The second one looks to have Sport Chrono / PASM / 19 Turbo style wheels but I hate beige interior.

I wouldn't buy a Porsche without PASM / Sport Chrono ... but that is just me. They change your car's attitude through different suspension / throttle response ... they make a Porsche even more fun!
