unitronic software .... anyone running it ??

Ive had great experience's running unitronic software on my VW, and almost everyone i know with a tuned VW runs unitronic... I was looking into software options for the 2.5L 986, and noticed they have a tune for it. I was wondering if anyone here had used unitronic on their porsche and give me any input ??

never heard of that software used on a Cayman or boxster

Most use Softronic or Evolution motorsports .Proven to perform

Porschepet, thank you for the input. Me neither and that is why I asked, they are one of the best software tuners right now in the VW / Audi scene ... and they are the "only" software tuner available in Venezuela (where the 986 is located) other than Revo which Ive never liked.

which of the two would be better for the 2.5L 986.... softronic or evoms?? Im getting the Evoms intake and it would be nice to get their software as well, its the pain of dealing with shipping the ecu overseas what I dont want to deal with...

evoms and softronic are the same i believe (evoms sells the softronic tune).

with your location, the softronic tune shouldn't be an issue since it requires a live internet connection to upload and download the flash (for the 987 at least... not sure about the 986).

Lots of Audi guys us em. Some good some bad. But for that price, I'd go with softronic or evoms.

I think Softronic can mail you a cable, and you perform the flash yourself.

Softronic can mail you the OBD cable and e-mail you the flash with no problem ,Its a simple 10 minute install . a lot of Porsche Cayman/boxster owners go with Softronic due to it being a reversable modification if you need to due any kind of warrenty service.I think it also includes the durametric software ! a really cool OBD software that lets you diagnose and clear most service errors or turn off oil change/service now dash codes . Pretty cool stuff and a big seller on planet9.net Just mention6speed or planet9 to Scott the owner .Planet9.net has some group buys right now

also consider the Plenum /Flash and a high flow AM exhaust with your evoms will make a max performance for your ride IMO

The IPD Plenums are a unique design that dramatically increases horsepower and torque by optimizing air flow efficiency. Air flow is managed through a diversion splitter that maximizes air speed into the engine. The charged intake air maintains a higher velocity by replacing the factory plastic "T" intake with a stronger and more efficient cast aluminum "Y" design. This unique "Y" style plenum optimizes flow, improving acceleration and boost response. The new IPD replacement plenum eliminates the turbulent air flow by smoothly splitting and diverting the air flow and directing it towards the cylinders at a much higher air speed. This simple bolt-on plenum upgrade provides dyno proven increases in both power and torque throughout the entire rev range.

SOFTRONIC also makes a Penum but for a 2.5 liter you will need to call Both places and ask if it fits that year and motor first.Try vivid racing as well or go to planet9.net and make a post there .someone will surley lead you down the right road . I have a Plenum and it really makes a big difference in the SMOOTH POWER. Thats exactly what it does ,Feels great
