370Z or Boxster S?
Hey guys, I am thinking to pick up a daily driver.
I am quite sick of driving my tt in taiwan's horrible traffic. But a damn blast to drive when I am on free way past midnight.
370Z Coupe:
plenty of HP for daily usage
looks pretty good to me
options are much better than the boxster s
7 auto is okay, better than a tip but PDK still owns it.
blind spot is just really bad
road noise is pretty bad too
more unique and rare than a 986,987 boxster and cayman.
Boxster S:
i always love this car since 1998
PDK is indeed the best tranny out there
never owned an open top car in my life
great handling, great steering feedback
miss the fun factor to drive on my cayman s
986, 987.1 they all seems alike for a none car enthusiast
nothing beats a mid engine car and it is a porsche
There's one at my dealership now for cheap.
11 Boxster S PDK White with red top
sport chorno, sport exhaust, red seat belts, side boxster s sticker, carrera 19", no PCM, no sport seats ( might get GT2/3 seats later on for the boxster/tt ) no pasm, no multifunction steering wheel, no bose
$115k Boxster S PDK
if more options = $$$$
$76.5k 370Z roadster. 7AT
fully loaded
$70k 370Z coupe. 7AT
fully loaded
( cars here costs double )
what do you y'all think?

Remember the key words were - " IF YOU HAVE TO ASK" Just ask me how many Z's I pass on the track - (all) or how many have passed me ( 0)
Get the z. My brother just picked one up and its a blast. Basic mods make decent power and I personally think it looks better

Looks like you have owned some pretty cool cars in the past so why even mess with the Z .you will be sorry IMO if you dont get the Porsche .The Nissan is about 25% of the Porsche in all areas ,Thats why it less money ,You know that !
Might as well look at a Hyundai or your made in Tiawan LUXGEN if you think the Z looks good

Since this is a daily driver it's the Z hands down.
Daily driving means lots of wear and tear and no way I'd choose any German car over a Japanese car for daily work and reliability.
The Z is also roomier which also helps with a daily.
The bonus is the power and lower price.
If the main purpose was for a great handling, mountain or country road splicer, it would be the Porsche all the way.

I don't think they sell vettes in TW. Cars there are not only expensive, the choices are limited.
Between these two, I'd say go for the Z. You already had a Cayman and still have a TT so it's good for a change right? Plus, having all the gizmos in a daily is nice. I would go for a coupe for safety and ease of care reasons since you are in TW.
BTW, any regular meets in Taipei arond the Da An and Shinyi areas? I am going there in Nov and would love to chat with local owners for a car and coffee.

I've seen it during the 6sp manual vs PDK discussions (people say they'd rather row their own gears and have fun, then go faster)... I've seen it during the GT-R vs GT3 discussions (people say the GT3 may be slower around a track, but the GT-R is less rewarding)...
People seem to disregard speed when it's convenient for them. Here, I'd say get the Nissan. Completely disregarding speed (because neither of these cars is the pinnacle of either manufacturer), the Z might lend itself to more drivability, dependability, and less expensive maintenance costs.

I very much doubt that you can fit as much luggage in a Z.
