Changing the Cayman 987.1 to 987.2 Question.
Changing the Cayman 987.1 to 987.2 Question.
I got good prices on the Cayman, but I really dislike the back-end, especially the taillights..
I was wondering how easy is it to install the LED taillights on the Cayman?
And if i'm right you need to change the bumper too?
Do you need to re-map the computer to accept LED lights? If so, how?

Yup. Here is a write up on another forum. It's not turnkey, so it's not going to be cheap. If it's not too late, perhaps apply the $8k to your car for an '09.

The caymans/boxster really hold thier value here..
If I buy an older 987 I can save some money for the mods..
So what about the headlights? Is it plug-and-play?
And the front bumper?
'10 Headlights are my first choice..

was wondering the same thing if there are aftermarket led tail lights for 987.1
still no afermarket LEDs available, I have the new Gen techart type 2 front bumper on back order coming thru CEC (Justin!!!!!!) anyway it should be here next week. that has badass LED DRLs and they have a dimmer switch too. here is the video.

Are those official TechArt DRLs or aftermarket? Just wondering cause I was getting quotes at around $1800 just for the DRLs (a little much IMO).

They are techarts and like the rest of their stuff, they aren't cheap.
