New Owner saying hello

Hello All!

I just picked up my 2006 Cayman S two days ago. I have been eyeing the cars since they came out, but the 72,000 sticker price of a new Cayman S was out of my budget. When i started thinking about purchasing a new or used car towards the end of last year, I was very surprised to see that I could purchase a Cayman S for less than half of its original sticker price. I was sold as soon as i spotted this car and a new SUV was suddenly completely out of the question. The car and i just spent 700 miles together on the interstates in the SouthEast and i must say that i am very impressed and extremely happy with my purchase so far. I need to add the 3M film and perhaps an upgraded stereo, but other than that i think the car is perfect just the way it is.

Here are some pictures of my new friend.

Thanks for the nice comments. I don't plan on doing anything currently. However, i might want to add headers, upgraded cats, and exhaust to it later-maybe just mufflers . I wonder if the dyno results of plus 16rwhp over stock for adding just new mufflers are factual.

Thanks! It has turned out to be a nicer car than I expected. I bought it from a dealership in Houston that has some bad feedback. They sell a lot of cars and dont really inspect them that well. Anyway, I think the original owner was a female due to the scratches by the mirror adjust button. I assume someone with long fingernails must have made those, but i could be wrong.

Here are some better pictures of her taken at sunset today.

Hi Chris from a former Bham resident. I believe the most you could possibly gain from a muffler swap is 5- 8, you can also lose that much along with noise/ resonance that you won't like.

I called FabSpeed today and they said the 20 rwhp gain was from the headers and their muffler system, not just the rear exhaust with mufflers. Gain for just the mufflers is 7-8rwhp as you said. You lose the Cats on the rear as well with the aftermarket system, which isnt a big deal since i am in Alabama where we dont have emissions testing on anything, but what if i moved? Anyway, for the expense of the entire system, i don't really see the point. From experience, i know that there will not be a seat of the pants difference unless you gain above 15rwhp.

Birmingham to SoCal-that is quite the move!

Fabspeed is as good as any but for the cost it is hard to justify. I used to live out by Barber but way before it was built, took the Porsche driving course there as soon as I bought my Boxster S. Get more seat time here in So. CA because of the weather. You should call Hesco in Bham to see what they recommend, they did all the machine work for me on my engine rebuilds. I just started rebuilding Boxster engines & considered moving to Bham to open a shop but I know late model Porsche's are scarce in that area. Spent 2 weeks in Bham for Christmas & the cold scares me too!

Lee Hurley and I are not friends. As a matter of fact, i think he is scum of the earth. I drive all of my engines to ProLine Race engines in Woodstock, Georgia now. There are not any good machine shops in or near Birmingham, AL unfortunately.
I appreciate you taking the time to make a recommendation though!

+1 for Orange side markers & the cleavage, not necesarily in that order. I would love to hear you vent about Lee Hurley if you care to, PM me if you like.
