'08 Cayman with 414 miles

http://www.waltersporsche.com/certified/Porsche/2008-Porsche-Cayman-49efe6aa0a0a00650151981abef02243.htm

priced at $45,983

I asked them the history of the car and im guessing this was a dealer demo that didn't sell. It's now a CPO car with bucket seats.

What price range should I offer?

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Jay

You can find '07 Cayman S CPO with <30k miles for about $9 - 10k less. If you want low miles, you should be able to find '09 Caymans for $45k. So, I vote keep looking. Look on cars.com

i'd offer them $41,500 and make them do a comprehensive fluid flushing of the entire car and throw a new set of PS2's on it. this is assuming it's exactly how you want it. otherwise there are other cars out there. 414 miles is LESS appealing than 3500-8500 mile car of that year... the car was just sitting. in my mind, i wouldn't buy a car that was averaging less than 3 miles a day. so about 1200 or so miles per year. too many unknowns. nothing that would potentially go wrong would have even had a chance to. i know you said it's CPO but still... that's what? 6/100k whichever comes first? at 2008 the CPO is half over.

way too much, i would offer less than 40K for this car. when new it was pretty standard to get 12K+ off the car brand new if you bought an 08 in 09.

Interesting... I'll be keeping an eye out for some more Cayman S's on the market then!

I agree. Back in 08 you could have bought that car new for ~40K.

I almost did but I wanted an S so I waited.

I know 08 was a tough yr for everyone but Ive never heard of a Porsche dealer discounting there cars 19% unless there was some story to go along with it.

Just a couple months ago I missed out on a leftover 2010 Boxster S that was discounted over 24% from MSRP. It was missing one year of warranty and had 180 miles on the clock. I still feel queasy about missing the deal.

If you like the car I'd probably offer no more than $37k for it.

I should have picked one up then, but then again I was still driving my BMW
I will keep an eye out for 08's then.

Porsche dealers really got caught with considerable inventory when demand went to essentially zero. Porsche stepped in to discount quite heavily.

I just happened to start looking for a Cayman S around that time. I saw some good deals. However, I didn't know how good the deals were at the time since I hadn't been looking for very long. There really were deals of a lifetime to be had.
