Pricing ideas for new Cayman

I've never owned a Porsche before and I'm looking at buying the base Cayman model (2011/12) with PDK. I threw in a few options as well. I just did a test drive (loved it) and told the guy I was looking at a few other cars and would get back to him. He located a car with all of the features I want (plus one I don't care about) with MSRP of 64,830. He seemed disinterested in talking to me about what it would actually cost me through his dealership. I got the impression from him that they don't negotiate prices.
I've never bought a car this nice before, but I presume they should be open to negotiating a price. There are two other dealerships within 120 miles of where I live. I had thought about contacting them and asking them about pricing and then using it to get this guy to come down on the price. Any ideas on what a reasonable price would be? Are there specific areas that I should specifically look to ask the salesman to drop the price on? I'm going to be financing through my bank since they have the best rates. Any advice would be appreciated.

Tell you the truth, the prices are pretty set when you buy new. You may be able to wiggle a couple thousand, but not likely. Have you considered a Certified pre-owned? The prices on them are amazing, and you can get the same warranty. Just another option, this is the route that I chose.

Good Luck, i basically paid full price and it was more of, if i wanted the car, i was gonna have to pay for it... there are a ton of used one's on the market, unless they are sitting on the lot and already spec'd out you might have some room...

Also, dont second guess yourself, if you want the car.. get the car.. you wont be sorry... a few dollars really isnt going to make up the difference of fun your going to have.. the worst thing that could happen is you make up your mind to buy the car and then it's not there when you go back... it does happen...

When I ordered my car last spring, had offers from 3-5% off MSRP, it depends alot on supply/demand. The dealer here has no new Caymans, used ones are listed for not much of a discount off original sticker.

5% off on a custom order. Also try high volume Porsche dealers, they tend to offer more off.
