Gen2 exhaust tips.

Just to confirm, all 987 tips are interchangeable. Correct? 987.1 987.2 all have the same exhausts and setups so I can bolt on the dual tailpipe of the 987.2 to my 987.1 cayman s. Thanks

No the tips are different: gen 1 has 1 pipe coming off the crosspipe between the mufflers, where gen 2 has 2 pipes coming off the crosspipe. You can get an aftermarket tip for your gen 1 that looks similar to gen 2 but they typically are chrome/polished, or you have to replace the whole unit from the crosspipe if you want the gen 2 tips

They are different. I put Fabspeed's 987.2 dual tips on my 987.1 and had to trim about 1/8" off each side in order to retrofit.

Weird, I just put on the exact same exhaust tips and I didn't cut anything. I would say though that I completely removed one side of the exhaust and removed the retaining bracket of the other muffler to get enough room to put the whole thing together. It fits perfectly. I like the gloss black tips. I angled mine slightly higher than yours from looking at the pictures. And I wouldn't say its just you, definitely more of a growl on start up than bone stock. Also, have to say Fabspeed quality is one of the best I've seen. Even the clamps are far superior in quality than anything I've seen on the market.

I'm very happy with my decision, it's exactly what I wanted.

We took the the entire exhaust off to fit it properly, then again I wasn't overly excited to bang around with my ceramics at risk. I'm surprised you were able to fit it the piece on fully without cutting the pipe, as the wider diameter piping causes contact with the curve of the Fabspeed piece and it can only go on the stock pipe so far. We only cut about, say 2 quarters stacked on one another's worth.

...but yes, the clamps are purrrty.
