There’s only 1 on the hood, right? Tomorrow I’m going back to the dealer to test drive the red s with manual transmission. I’ll see how the gold emblem looks. If it looks like I think it will, I’m ordering the silver one tomorrow.

is this silver emblem the "new style"?

I stopped at the dealership today and realized the 981 has a different style emblem. (missing a plastic border that the emblem recesses in to)

Thanks,

Mark

Any update on the new emblem? I'd like to change mine on my hood to silver but need to know if it's the same as the new 981?

There is a current post from another member who found out this didn't fit his car.
Beware before you spend almost $200 on an emblem.
The emblem that didn't work out was bought from Wheel Dynamics not Max Speed

Are these silver or chrome?
Pictures look like chrome.
Thanks

Yes, I saw that post and I appreciate the heads up. Because of that, I've decided to leave my emblems gold and paint my chrome PORSCHE emblem the color of the car.

Cures my problem and comes out cheaper.

Besides, any vendor that makes a post and two months later doesn't respond to their own post trying to sell something.. .well, I wouldn't buy from them anyways!

I bought the aluminum gas cap from Maxspeed and it was better than the plastic one from Porsche and cheaper. I may try this emblem but don't want chrome, which the pictures make it look like.

The gas cap was for a 997.

What I did was view the pics of them on ebay and then once I knew what finish I wanted, I tried to find it from a supporting vendor. Some are black, gun metal, chrome, polished and some keep the red inside the crest. (which is what I wanted since my car is red)
