So I just rolled back in from getting a clear bra on the entire front end. I installed the vent guards we painted and the powdercoated wheels and tinted the windows.

The center caps are off for now because they're plastic and I need to tint the paint to match the powdercoat.

Here's some updated pics...

I was going to but decided on a lighter color... I thought black might have been a bit too much.

Thumbs down

I really like the wheels and think they would look amazing on my 981S. If you don't mind, how much did hte powder coating cost?

The company that did the powder coating is a friend of mine so I only paid 200 bucks (cost of powdercoat and shipping)

I can tell you this... while mine was getting done, my cost (through my body shop) on a set being done for a customer was 420 bucks (that included the powdercoat because it was black)

I would guess that he would charge 500-600 to get them powdercoated. If you decide you really want to get a set done, let me know. I'm thinking I want to go darker and perhaps we could trade?? You'd save a crapload of money and I could start all over.

Dumb question, remove the tires or leave them on during the process? If so, removed the weights and mark the spots for reapplication or re-balance? Valve stems?

Your color looks exactly like the satinmat/platinum option.

No, no, no... The wheels get removed, the tires dismounted, the valve stems removed and the entire wheels have to be soda blasted down to the aluminum.

Then they are powder coated, everything reinstalled and rebalanced.

I had to paint the center caps (plastic, can't powder coat) but I had to wait until the wheels were done so I could match the paint to the powdercoat.
