New Boxster owner!
New Boxster owner!
I am the new owner of a 2003 Boxster S. Picked her up with 48,000 miles for $20K.

It recently had its IMS bearing replaced with an upgraded unit (Flat6 something..) and a new rear main seal. No crap in the oil filter when I did my oil change. Minor things I replaced like a new CV axle that I replaced myself for $65 (PartsGeek.com), some new tranny oil, plugs, air oil seperator, belt and cabin/engine air filter. Runs great and surprisingly easy to work on.
I was looking at replacement parts and those who say this car is expensive has not worked on a new Dodge. The parts are no more expensive than a new Charger ($9500 engine) and I like the fact that it looks like the tranny can be removed in a couple of hours at most. Coming from air-cooled VW's (I have a 1968 Karmann Ghia project car), I can say a lot of this cars componentry looks mighty familiar. Its good to see Porsche keeping the tradition alive.

Looks great. I just bought a 2000 986 S with 52K on the clock and it is a really nice car. I will have to follow in your footsteps and do some work on mine myself. Is yours seal gray?
Congrats!

Congrats on the purchase, looks like you found a low mile gem. There great cars and a blast to drive. I would suggest that you switch out the orange side marker lights to a Euro Style Side Marker they will look a lot better then the orange against the silver.
