Radio Fail in Spyder
Radio Fail in Spyder
I have been having issues with my factory stereo since I purchased the car. I will establish all of my radio presets and drive the car normally. Sometimes when I turn off the ignition, leave the car for a few hours, days, months, etc., I will start the car and the stereo will be on FM 87.5, max volume, all presets gone. This has happened so many times that I have lost count. My biggest concern is the maximum volume blowing the speakers. The car has been to the dealership 3 times for the issue without a fix. Yesterday the dealership agreed to replace the factory stereo. Anyone have a similar problem?
So I took the car in for the new PCM install. It didn't fix the problem. As a matter of fact, when I brought the car in this morning, it was throwing up codes the dealership has never seen! Now it is showing errors in the left and right speakers. Also, when you turn the volume **** all the way to zero and then click the volume up one increment, the volume is super loud. So it isn't the PCM which means they are going to replace the amplifier per Porsche Tech. I wanted to avoid having the entire dash taken apart but I guess that's not possible with the new problems. I'm starting to hate this car. It's my weekend fun car when I stay at the beach but it seems every time I come here I'm taking it to the dealership and spending 4 days in an Infiniti G37.
FIXED!!! It was the amplifier that had a short and was affecting the entire system. So...I got the new PCM and amplifier all replaced under warranty. And what a huge difference! The bad amp was really hindering the rest of the system. I was getting tired of the Infiniti so I'm glad she's back.
