Either way, the 3.8 is going to feel great! (almost sounds like a slogan)
Bro
I wanted to give everyone an update of where this conversion was:
On July 5th, the good folks at FVD in Pompano Beach called my cellphone to let me hear the car start up for the first time. They had not yet reinstalled my Sport Exhaust so it sounded like a racecar. Loud!
Today, the owner, Willie, and the fellow doing the conversion, Jay, were taking the car for a lengthy drive through town and on the highway to shake out any bugs. On Monday they are going to dyno the car. I've asked Rhonda to scan the dyno sheets and I'll share with anyone who wants to see the results. Just let me know.
I'm hoping to have the car back at the end of next week via Intercity. I'll post any thoughts.
For those of you who are looking for someone to work on your car, I can't say enough about these folks at FVD. I know that there are a lot of good shops out there. I've used a few of them for supercharger kits and upgrades to my TT. For something that is more than just bolting something on, I would recommend FVD for their conscientious approach to this project, and their knowledge of the electronics side of the car. Don't forget, they are integrating a Motronic from the 997S into a 2002 986 S. I've seen the pictures of the wiring harness modifications and they are complex.
Since some are going to ask...no, I'm not getting any kickback or discount for my comments. They are simply what I feel and are a result of the experience I'm having. I had the same good experiences at PES with my Audi and TT.
PM me with any questions.
Dave

Hi Dave,
The car is coming along great! I was lucky enough to ride passenger with Jay on the first road test and let me say I was REALLY impressed with the power! Can't wait till it is buttoned up and the final program goes into it, what a sleeper too with the completely stock bodywork. You are going to seriously surprise some 997S owner
.
Congrats on an awesome car and thank you for the kind words!

Jay,
Isn't there a way to just add the PSM switch to the dashboard and KAZAMM, it is installed!?! I hear that after you replace the throttle, it will be a lot more manageable.
