Blue tooth hookup,how much $$
My 06 Boxster s does not have Bluetooth, can it be installed, does it have to be done by porsche and what are the approx costs, got a ticket last summer for talking on cel phone not to mention hard to shift and hold phone at same time BUT im getting better at it
I should of been more clear. Do you have the factory iPod connection like the below link? If so, you can buy a Bluetooth or even a Wifi transmitter and stream through the aux in jack. There are a bunch of other alternatives. Just depends on how much you would like to spend.

An 06 has no bluetooth, no AUX-in, no ipod type attachment. It has nothing. You can send the radio in to Becker -Harmon for ~$100 and have an aux-in port connected to the CDR-24. There are other aftermarket solutions available.

Yes, I understand that. OP can go OEM route and add BT transmitter to tether his/her phone. The OEM setup has aux in and will allow you to talk on the phone when calls come in using your cellphone mic. The link I sent above.
The other option is to go the aftermarket route of FM modulator where you intercept the ant from back of radio and transmit via aux in and add BT transmitter. Both options are essentially the same since porsche isn't known for breakthrough electronics. And of course, OEM is supported by the factory. And you don't get true loss less audio.
A2DP BT format will allow for 2 way transmission and stereo if you choose to want mobile calling.

If you want to go fully integrated, then it will require you to get a new head unit. And the next question would be if you have Bose?

Someone just posted a review over on P9 for over the air FM streaming and BT. This probably the least expensive solution.

I have a Parrot CK3000 that I took out of my wife's car. It should be plug and play if you have ISO plugs on the back of your stereo (which I believe all do). It works perfectly to add Bluetooth (phone only) to your car. I'll let you have it for $50 if you're interested. Here is what I'm talking about.
