Ordered my first Porsche.

I finally ordered my first Porsche. I live in AR and bought it in PA on the 21st. The wait is absolutely KILLING me! It's Finally on the transport truck, but now all of this snow and ice is not helping. I know it will be worth the wait, but that doesn't make it any easier right now. That's all I can think about.

I've had my mind made up to save all this year to buy a 991 911 C2S in December or next January. The Cayman was not even in the picture. However I am about the most impatient person when it comes to cars and I went and looked at the new Corvette Stingray and actually placed an order for one. Then within a few days I got to thinking that the Cayman S is not a whole lot more than the way I was optioning the Vette. I took a ride to Tulsa to try one out and actually Loved it. DONE DEAL. Unfortunately that dealer in Tulsa could not work a deal on one so I had to go shopping the internet. Found my new baby and been waiting now since Feb 21st.

Congrats and welcome !!! I absolutely love my 13 Boxster S and feel you made a great choice . Your car photo looks stunning and you'll find that the car is so balanced and fun to drive .

The two other cars you considered are certainly great cars but it's my opinion that the improvements made in the current generation Boxster/Cayman are tremendous. The styling is amazing , the current pricing , the overall improvements , and comparing it to the other cars I think you made an awesome choice .

The Corvette is a fantastic car but I will always doubt about how well the Chevy will stand up over time and driving wear . The 991 is also a great Porsche but the new 911 has taken a different and less traditional path of comforts and is filled with high priced options which just vanish in resale depreciation . The 991 is the first 911 since the 993 was introduced that i have not bought . This Boxster is the first Boxster I have ever bought .

I still have my 911 Turbo but I have to admit that I have more daily fun driving my Boxster . Once again .. congrats !!!

The new Cayman looks great. I may trade in my 991 for one of these when the lease is up. The 911 has become so big now.

Thank you everybody for your kind words and welcoming. yrralis1 you hit the every point that I considered before pulling the trigger on the Cayman. The new Vette is for sure a great car and the numbers don't lie. The car is the real deal. However, how is it going to hold up after several years? If it holds up outstanding then it is the first GM to do so. Now, I already know I am not one to keep cars for 5-7 years, but that still factored into my decision.

I am really impressed with your response that you have always been a 911 owner and currently own a 911 Turbo and actually have more fun driving your Boxter every day. And then empunker saying he might even trade the 991 for the 981 Cayman. I would not have thought I would get any responses like either of you two. That makes me more confident in my decision. I for sure do like the latest Cayman S. I would not have even considered it before this year. Now it is a sweet looking and handling car.

Thanks again everybody. I look forward to seeing you around.

Congrats Toddf, I'm sure you'll love the car. The chassis is so tight and the suspension is so lithe, it's flat out amazing.

Clear side markers, 7mm/15mm spacers and the car will look even more stunning.

Thanks for the suggestions. I Like It!!!

Where is the best place to buy those parts and is that something that's an easy DIY job or do I need to take it in to Porsche?

Most definitely DIY on both items.
ECS responded above and is a board sponsor, a good place to buy.

White is a great color. You've got a fantastic looking car. I have a white Cayman S on order with Carrera Classic Wheels and Agate/Amber Orange interior with PDK (and a few other things.) According to the tracking sheet, the car was completed today and should be leaving for the States by March 21st! it should be in my hands by mid April.

You will love it, the wait is worth it! My best day was the day I picked mine up after delivery and clear-wrap was on, and took it for a 3 hour drive up mountain roads! I could feel the new tires breaking in haha.

That's exciting. Please do share photos when it arrives. That's how I wanted to build mine. I love the White exterior and I love that Orange interior. I'm anxious to see yours.
