FVD can get 300 hp from the 3.2 with cams, headers, sport cats, and ecu upgrade.

Just remember, anything more than a 10-15 hp increase for the M96 engines will be pricey.

Do what I did send it to Imagine Auto. They have developed a S/C kit for these cars that make safe hp.

St.Louis,
Have you received your car back yet? Please advise. Also, what is the pricing for the S/C kit, installed by IA? If you don't feel comfortable, please PM me. How did you make the decision to do the S/C? Did you drive a S/C Boxster S? Impressions?

Sorry so many questions. I've heard from Stephen. Now I'd like to hear from someone outside of IA.

Dave

There are no other S/C Boxster S, BUT I have taken a ride in a S/C 2.5 and it feels every bit as fast as mine. I have a few mods so that is saying a lot. As for the price, I have a good deal worked out with Stephen since my car will be his "test mule".

They have had great success with the 2 2.5 that they have done. I know also that if Stephen brakes it he knows how to fix it. HE HE.

I originally wanted to do a set of cams also at the same time and he said noton the stock internals.

I hope this helps and sory for being so unclear about the price but my best suggestion is to talk to them a bit more about what it is and what to expect.

There was a PCA meeting in Chicago 2 summers ago. A dude from the Porsche exchange told me that the engine mounts on the S do not need mods to fit a 996 engine (gt3 )

The issue is coming up with the $34K +or- for the GT3 motor. Unless you know of one that was "acquired" for dismantling. I know a guy that knows a guy type of thing.

Way cool Dave! Have you heard from Stephen yet? If so when are you sending it in. *Hint* Now would be great so you can have it back in time for spring! That is why mine is there now.

I just can not wait!

No news from Stephen. Can't seem to get a price for the S/C upgrade. You mentioned earlier in this thread that he recommended against the cams with the S/C. I didn't quite understand the response that you got. It would seem to that the cams would only enhance the S/C upgrade?

Untill they get mine finished it would be hard to ballpark the number since all my air intake and headers are custom fabed now.

Give Stephen a month or two to finish mine, then he will be able to give you a number. I spoke with him this past weekend and they are very busy.

Sounds great. Thanks for the PM. Glad to hear that Stephen is taking his time to do this right. I look forward to talking to you about the upgrade after you have the car back.

Noel,
Any feedback on what parts there are that can help the Boxster S get better performance ?
Since i have a friend who needs some more power in his 2001 Boxster S.
He has bought it with a complete exhaust system. What i have been looking at is the ecu/air intake combo that Evolution Motorsports sells..
Hope to learn some more from you guys that have dug deeper into this.
