ims bearing removal tool

So am thinking of getting my ims bearing replaced, but my mechanic doesn't have the removal tool. Do I absolutely have to buy the tool,or is there any other way that the bearing can come out?

In short, you will need the tool. It is needed to reinstall the new bearing as well. If you do not have one, I would recommend finding a shop that has the equipment and is familiar with the job.
