Hello - New User 987 S

Hello - this is my first post here and in a car forum for quite some time. Nevertheless, a recent move to California somehow outlawed my STI overnight. Indicted by the C.A.R.B. police.

More to the point, I had a chance to buy my favorite car: a Boxster.

I lived in SF for a year and loved renting an local guys 05 S. Gave me the same excitement as my modified Subaru without the 120+ mph speed. The Porsches just feel fun all the time.

So, I flew out to AZ and bought a low mileage 08 RS60. Price was right.

First time I've ever had no buyers remorse. Love this little car.

Thinking of taking off the black paint. Heard it's not that bad at a reputable wheel shop.

Does your car have Bose or the standard radio? I bought the speaker upgrade kit for the standard radio and never installed it. Places 4 speakers in the storage box behind the seats.

BTW, your car doesn't have the RS60 tail lights. They should be all red. Does it have the RS60 Spyder scuff plates in the door ledge? Should also have 5mm wheel spacers.

What number is yours?

It has everything but the tailights. I looked extensively at the back end and saw no evidence of collision. Frankly have no idea why it doesn't have them.

I believe I'm 217 but let me check outside.

I have the Bone 7 speaker upgrade. I can attest to that driving top down from Phoenix to SD. Can also attest to its ability to go 130+ .

You inspired me to get the original tailights. There's an RS60 being parted out on ebay. Bought and restored the steering wheel off that one actually.

Was 525 for both lights. Now I'm original.

Awesome! BTW, your car is past the age (maybe not miles) where the serpentine belt should have been replaced. It's the primary drive belt (external). I would check to ensure it's not original. If so, replace it.

As for the RS60, the best thing I ever did to mine was mount a set of Bridgestone RE-11s. You think it handles well now? Those tires are made for that car. They are night and day better than any Michelin option for that car. Plus they are super aggressive looking. Stick like glue, which you probably need if your roads are anything like Vegas.

If you're not familiar with Suncoast Porsche parts in Florida, become familiar. You can get a lot of stuff through them that's hard elsewhere. Very professional group of folks. They have lots of my money.
