Steering wheel hubs

I'm at this stage of the install (see picture) but doesn't seem the OMP hub will fit without removing the black piece. Is there a better hub that will fit right over this black piece?

Thanks,

This black piece is preventing the OMP hub to fit

Thorn is infamous around these parts
That clock spring is to be removed since its no longer needed for an aftermarket wheel.
