aftermarket steering wheel color
what do you guys think about getting a black steering wheel when your interior color is natural color...? but I do have a lot of black surroundings in the car.. center consule all black.. gauge cluster area all black.. side a/c vent areas black center radio and a/c control area all black.. speaker covers black..black floor mats.. I know it would be a lot easier with a photo.. lol But I dont have a camera at the moment... reason I ask is I am thining of getting the FVD steering wheel with the F1 paddles for my 996tt and it will come in approx. $300.00 less and a month sooner... and if I wanted to sell it later I thought black would be easier to sell.
yes John, I held the black one in my car and I thought it looked good being I have all the other black pieces in the car.. but you know the proper match is steering wheel and dash to match thats why I was asking
Had a natural brown wheel...carpet is metropol blue. Got the steering wheel in metropol blue and kept the airbag from before....it turned out to my liking. Just food for thought.
Black, IMHO, would look fine and actually go with the plastic quite well. So go for it, but that natural airbag will likely look great in a darker wheel is my thought!
(Edit to add better pictures....)

Thanks. Waited for a cheap ebay wheel in metro, then had it recovered. I don't want to get into a long discussion on who to use....I wanted it thicker and with the rallye stripe. So, I am as happy as a clam. Several 6speedonliners saw and felt it at VIR in March an it was very much a positive review (or they were all just too polite to say it was ugly to my face of course...they are all nice, so that is possible).
Anyway, it is Porsche OEM. I have the original in case I ever need it. But, I am thinking of redoing that one too and losing the yellow stitching... (it was supposed to look like natural brown, and it doesn't...I know, my only regret). I'd use navy/metro stitiching on the next go. For now, it is superb. I had the ergo pads added to. Not as nice as some of the FVD wheels, but it was a little cheaper and with what I wanted....it is fun to "make it yours" for me.
Good luck.

my wheel would be ALL black... I have a few more black piece's then you do in my car... and my carpet is also natural... but I put down black floor mats
I currently have an all Grey interior, think of changing the carpet (including door carpet trim) to OEM Black. Is it possible to source the carpet from Porsche? How much work to change? Comments appreciated.
