How can you wire the Boxster 987 tweeters?
I gutted all my factory stereo stuff: CD changer, all speakers, ASK amp, navigation unit and head unit. I found a good place to tap into my new mids in the door and the new 8" subwoofer right at the factory ASK amp wiring in the frunk, but I cannot figure out how to get the tweeters wired in because the factory setup has the mids and tweeters going through a crossover somewhere hidden deep into the dash. I know I have the mids isolated with Ohm testing and It was a bit of doing to get an 8" sub in the factory "sub" location, but I can't find a single article on how to get to the tweeter wiring post factory crossover. I can't find any space to run new wires into the tweeter locations. I have searched the internet all day and found nothing. I spent several hours trying to get wires to the tweeters in the dash, but can't figure out how. Does anyone have a solution or a way to wire the tweeters in independently? They fit perfectly. I can't find any kind of opening that leads to the tweeters to even run my own wires. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thx. Fingers crossed.......
I know this is an old post, but I just installed a 3 way component system and I don’t seem to have anything going to my tweeters. I hooked them up directly from the crossover. Is that what you did?
