Lowering & pasm
#2
I put the TechArt springs on my 997S with PASM. Works great. Lowered the car about 1.25" all around. I like the look and handling, no rubbing, no problems. I have TechArt Formula rims with 245/30-20's in front, and 305/25-20's in back. The ride in normal mode is great, and I actually prefer the ride in Sport mode better after installing the new springs. For whatever reason, the Sport mode feels less jarring and I get less chatter after the install, and is much more streetable and better for daily driving - even with our crappy streets . . .

Love 'em.
Although I am looking forward to a fully adjustable coil-over setup, such as the PSS9's, that is PASM-compatible, someday when they become available. Soon I hope. The TechArts (which are made by one of the big suspension companies - can't remember which one - H&R maybe?) have been great though, and for street use they are perfect for me.

Honestly, I don't remember, as I had them installed at the same time I installed the supercharger, headers and exhaust, and some other mods. Just pick a board sponsor or reputable shop in your area and I'm sure they'll give you a quote. I used Imagine Auto in Kansas City, who I always strongly recommend, as they are as good as it gets. If you call them, ask for Nate.

Techarts are made by Eibach , HR makes cargraphic and I think Gemballa one something else I forgot.. IMO.. HR are more forgiving than eibach....Experience it on my CayenneS and driven a 997s with techart..too stiff..HR/cargraphic is better IMO..

Installation time for springs is a little over 6 hours...I thought it was odd that techart springs actually have the eibach logo on them!?!I don't know if they are actually any different or you just pay $200 more for a different color.

6 hours is kinda low!
Yogi, you gotta understand that if you want quality - you'll pay!
The suspension must be installed, corner balanced and a good alignment done. Believe me, you can TELL the difference between a $200 alignement you get at the dealer and a killer alignment job.
Think about it this way, when your car is poorly aligned you'll gladly give up $300 for a great alignment - on the contrary you'll never wish for your "extra" $300 when you're driving an excellently aligned car.
Yeah, I've paid $1100 for a suspension install and expert corner balance/alignment. Pricey yes, but the result was simply incredible!
Bottom line with Porsches...stick with quality. The meager money you save will easily be spent when you have to replace the crap you put on there.
Why buy a $70k car then throw crappy stuff on there? Yes the MPS2 and contis are expensive - they are also great TIRES! I have some firehawks on closeout if you want!
p.s. let me know if you still want the dual exit exit w/ carrera tips...
