Yes, it can be done, and YES we are doing them.
There is a swap needed beyond just the outer cover. The interior bezel trim, clips and seals must be changed out.
We did this recently for a Cayman Vent On Boxster change, and it's about $70 in extra parts beyond what we charge for the painted vents.
I would expect similar crossover charge for the parts needed to put a Boxster vent on the Cayman.

Ironically I've read on some of the other boards that the cayman vents are the ones that are prone to helping aid in the production of the most power on account of their shape ... there is a school of thought that seems to feel that at speed, the vertical design of the cayman vents act as a sort of ram air scoop, as opposed to the horizontal ones on the boxster.
