Cayman GTR test drive.

400+hp makes this one sweet 3.8 Cayman. Handles crisp and the ride is not too bad for a car with a track suspension. The sound is out of this world, makes the 997TT sound weak.(it is weak) I had about 20 min of seat time yesterday. Pity I was not on roads that I knew but I was still very impressed by this test mule. 3.8l, PCCBs, LSD, short shifter, Cross 15 way coilovers, and a whole bunch of other goodies.

997 Euro Cup Aero front end(splitter was not on for some reason)

Its a test mule. Dyno'ed at slightly over 400. No other data yet but it really pulled nice.

3.8L with X51 and a bit of ECU work. Exhaust is ??? I believe the real deal will have different exhaust. Look at the rear, shiny exhaust part hanging down beloy body does not look very good. I think it is just a temp system. Sound sick though.

It is a very complete track package. $118,000.00 including the donor Cayman S. It's up there in GT3 territory for sure. I bet it would also give a GT3 a good run for its money too, considering its mid engine balance.

Very very cool car! It looks so much better then the 997TT "to me".. It does not have the TQ or the High revs like a GT3 but still it is so cool!

Hmm....
GT3 415HP 300TQ 3075 pounds 7.4 pounds per HP
GTR 400+HP 295TQ 2954 pounds 7.38 pounds per HP

A 3.8L motor makes 295 TQ, I assume more with the X51. Power to weight ratios are extreemly close. The mid engine may have an edge here.
