Guys - do 996 GT3 seats fit the old style Boxster? Any issues?

The GT3 seat comes with brackets and sliders if bought new. Used seats are pot luck. The BK brackets will lower the seat a bit more (~1") than the Porsche brackets.

No biggie. Most people use the BK brackets for the height reason. Either one will work.

Thats why I said that I guess... I had always looked into them because of my height (6'5'') and I guess that everytime I read about them that is what people used... oh well...

if you are less than 6' tall, just buy the GT3 seat from suncoast porsche, it comes with everything you need to mount in the car, i have them installed in my cayman this is first hand story http://tcdesignfab.com/john_cayman.html

if you are 6'5", forget it. stock seat or GT3 seat (even mounted directly on the tub) it will be a tight tight fit for you.

oh, you need to goto dealer after you installed the seat and have them use PIWIS computer to turn off the air bag light. else it will be on all the time.

disconnect the battery and keep the key out of the ignition during the install and you will not have this issue

viper, no it will not work.
the method you described only work for 996 986.
997 987 has a thorax air bag. once you put GT3 seat, the computer will see two missing bags on the seat itself.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that an "old style" Boxster is a 986.

BTW, that is how I put in my Sparco seats. No airbag light.
