Drove base Cayman today

So I've heard how the base Cayman is slow, etc. so I went to find out myself. Much to my surprise, it was quick and pulled well enough for 245 hp/201 tq. I really enjoyed driving it - enough to consider it for a second car. But then I consider that my 997S payment + Cayman payment = Gallardo payment.

All in all, I'd recommend the base Cayman to friends - it was a lot of fun.

Ummmm hmmmm.. Id recommend a slower car to all my friends as well.
All kidding aside, I couldn’t buy the base mode knowing I could get a gently used S at around the same price.
The cayman has grown by leaps and bounds on me.. I need to get my self control in check when I go to Hoen saturday...

Dude I'm going to be at Hoen on Sat. too. I want to do some more back to back testing on the Cayman S. I'm afraid my self control is already out of control though We'll see what happens.....

i have driven the base cayman as well. i really liked it and i think it's decent power as well. well, fastest cars i have ever had were in the low 5s, not much faster than the cayman. i am not baller with Gallardo or F430. :-)
nice car but somehow i had more fun in the boxster must be the soft top.

I meant it's fun for being the "base" car. Of course the Cayman S would be even more fun... I'm just saying I wouldn't mind having a Cayman as a second car. Plus you could do a 9ff swap later when you get bored.

Scot - GET THE CAYMAN S!!!!!
