need help with buying a cayman s

hey everyone, i'm an E46 M3 driver looking to get into a 997S sometime this year.

but right now, I want to help a friend buy a Cayman S. She's here in the Los Angeles area, and she wants a specific color, options etc. Is there any way of finding out which dealer may have the closest to what she wants in inventory? can I do this on the porsche website?

also what would be the best way to find out what a good market price is? the cayman S she wants stickers at 71k. what would be considered a good deal for this car in the LA area?

TIA!

yes, inventory can be searched at p website.

can't comment on price, i'd think somewhere around 5-7k off msrp, just a guess though.

thanks very much for the feedback, appreciate it. I was searching on the Porsche website, and it looks like I can go to each dealer's separate website to search for their inventories one dealer at a time. however is there any way to search on a nationwide basis, for a basalt cayman s with tip and specific wheels for example? searching 1 dealer site at a time is very tedious.

also, it sounds like around 65k (before tax title and licensing fees) for a 71k cayman s is a solid deal for here in the los angeles market. if anyone knows and other details please post or PM me, I would greatly appreciate it!

Drifter; Just went through the same process you are now doing. I searched each dealer individually as I could not find a way to do a national search. Right now 2006 Cayman S cars still in inventory, have $3,000.00 in dealer assistance from Porsche. Just a thought if you can find a 2006 car to your liking. I just ordered a 07 S from my local dealer in Ohio after working a few dealers I found through the Porsche site, to get a handle on pricing. MSRP was $66,885.00 (includes destination & state documentation), purchased for $59,750.00. Hope that helps.
Adeeois.

Don't appear excited about the car and see how they respond to you. If they act like they don't really care what happens negociations wouldn't go that well for you probably.

You can always ask how much they want for it and throw a bag of cash on their desk minus 2-3k then their asking price. That would get some reaction i suppose
