do you mean the rear glass window? If you mean the side windows... then I recommend it. I have 5% true grey on my side windows and wouldn't take it off for anything. At the least it adds to security in case you leave something sitting in your car that may be of value.

i think tint looks hot. some colors better than others but in general a good quality tint is great, vert or no vert.

I don't see how tint will really add much to a Vert. Especially a Boxster since it has so little glass area to tint.

I had tint on my triple black 996 cab but I don't on my 997S cab. A lot of times I have the side windows and windscreen up on the highway so it always seemed a little wierd to have tinted windows because all you have is 2 pieces of frameless dark glass showing. Every car I have ever owned has had tinted front sides but for some reason, it seemed unnatural and didn't flow well on a cab with the top down and windows up.

Robert, that's what i'm concerned about the "flow" of the car. Anyone have pics of a vert with tints on them? I have a Basalt Black (Black top)/Terracotta interior....

I just looked and I don't have a single photo of my triple black cab with the tinted windows up. I didn't take any photos that way because it wasn't very pretty with the dark windows up. Another thing to consider is that if front side window tint is illegal in your state, you are screaming give me a ticket when you have your front sides up like that.

The main thing is that when you have the front sides up all you see is the outline of the front sides. It's not so much the tint, it's that you see the outline of the glass and they have a 90 degree trailing edge so you see two squared off ends just sticking out there like fins. It just mutilates the lines on the car.

If your doing it to protect the interior there is a clear tint that's used to block UV rays. I think if you went with a lighter tint, say 35% or so,it wouldn't look that bad top down. Pics, someone must post pics.

Gary,

I don't think I've ever seen a pic of your car with the top down.

(Your tweeters are on the way)
