Email campaign to Porsche - race the Cayman!
Email campaign to Porsche - race the Cayman!
I keep hearign stories of Porsche actively squashing anyone who wants to race the Cayman. Maybe the forces of democracy via email could prevail.
Anyone have a strategic email address where we could write them?
If peanuts could save a TV show, surely a worldwide internet-based campaign to push racing the Cayman could work.
Seems like we would want to email PCNA as well as PAG in some capacity.

There are some privateers already racing the car and I really don't think they will do a Cayman cup car. I think the problem is that the Cayman platform being superior to the 911 would quickly overtake it in terms of performance once it begins to get exploited at the track. Compromising the "performance gap" between the Cayman and the 911 IMO would be a huge negative for Porsche. I could be guessing here but...
Oh, I totally agree with what you are saying, but if "market pressure" were to indicate the Porsche faithful WANT a racing Cayman, REALLY want one...would Porsche still say "no!" ??
Well, I really don't know but I do know that Porsche nuts around the world are always clamoring for a factory racing program. I know they want to see a Porsche in F1 and they would like to see a Porsche factory team at LeMans, and not in LMP2. I don't know race classes well enough to know where the Cayman would fit in but I am sure it would kick ***.

I doubt if we will ever see a Cayman "Cup Car" aka Factory Prepared Race Car. It hits to close to the 911 in performance and therefore potentially creating a marketing negative for the 911 and it's iconic status. I'd love to see it but Porsche building an SUV and a 4 door sedan were more likely events vs. a Cayman Factory Car.
Minid is correct. We've kicked around a Cayman project, street car and/or a track car. One runs in D stock now and is very quick.
