Painting Calipers?
Hi All!
I'm having some new hyper silver 19" rims installed next week on my Arctic Silver Boxster, and while they had the old rims off, I want to take care of my dull, stock Boxster calipers that are currently on them. I see where you can purchase caliper paint. Has anyone tried this? I know it's a lot more cost effective then buying new calipers, but is it worth the money saved? I'd like to just go for black as I don't want to be a "wanna be" Boxster S.
Also, how do you get around the "porsche" emblem without ruining it? My hands aren't that steady for painting!!
Thanks for any advice!
Jody

I bought Duplicolor caliper paint, it's a brush on paint. It takes about 4 coats but afterwards smooths out really nicely and look just like powdercoating. It's perfectly smooth and shiny and very red. Then apply the ebay Porsche decals afterwards (make sure you put them on all in teh same direction lol..) and slap the wheels back on. Pretty easy and really looks nice. My car is red so I did the calipers red.
It's not being a wanna-be boxster s. Putting a boxster S symbol on your car would be doing that. There is nothing wrong or posuer about modifying your car even if it's something thats on a more expensive model like red calipers.
I put an aftermarket exhaust on my car with twin tips on it from Evom. Just because the boxster s has twin tips doesn't mean I'm trying to copy it, thats just the way the exhaust comes.... Don't sweat it just do what you like thats all... The more you can do to enjoy the car the better.

I think the red would look great against the silver car. Yellow would probably be too bright on Silver. Black is a nice touch though. But if you like red the most, go for it. No matter if it is the same as the S, it just looks good.
