Winter in Edmonton

Let me start by saying I'm a newbe. I bought a 2003/911/C4S. I want to make this my daily driver. The car is now equipt with H.R.E. 19" Wheels
If I'm going to drive in the snow I think I should have snow tires.
Should I use 18" rims to accomidate snow tires.
Anyone have a set of 18" rims for sale.
What kind of snow tires have been used succsesfully
Any other tips for winter would be appreciated

Hmmm, I've got 2 sets of wheels, and Howie is considering selling me his 19's. If i got those, I'd need to sell one of my 18's first. Send me a PM, or email to 1superfly at gmail dot com We'll discuss.

When does your car arrive? Looking forward to seeing it.

Cheers

Welcome to the six, personally IMO, I would park the car for winter, and just drive it summer, like the rest of us.

Terry gets 4 season's use out of his. I would too if I thought I could raise the coilovers easily (and not have to do alignment and toe in settings 2x/year).

Besides, Supersurfr has a REALLY cool summer car already!!!!

Good on you for driving your 911 thru the cold season!
Go with 18" wheels for sure, tire selection is greater however with a C4/C4S our tire sizes are limited. Arctic Alpins is what I'm running.

To be honest, I find driving the C4 thru the snow to be not really all that different than if you were driving any other car equipped with winter tires. Adjust your driving style to "winter mode," be a bit more defensive, keep PSM on, and watch out for snow ruts especially in residential (ground clearance). Otherwise it's a fantastic vehicle in the snow.

And here's my Dirty Carrera
