Hmmmm, mine already have the hack done but I've got rattles coming from the inside (loose baffles I'm assuming) ? I'd just as soon keep what I have if possible...can anything be done in the GTA re:rattles ? If so, who to take it to ?

Where was the hack done? how long ago? something there could of worked itself loose. I believe Autowerks in Woodbrige open the cans and remove baffles as part of their hack. I'd call to see when the best time to have someone take a it for a test drive, if its minor, they good about fixing it while you wait. If have any questions you want me to ask them, I'll be there tomorrow getting a new shift cable and short shifter installed.

Ya if you wouldn't mind asking them their process and whether or not they open up the cans to do the hack, that would be great. It was done prior to my getting the car...'99 C2 with 138,xxxkm...so I'm assuming they are the originals.

They will open up the cans and re-wield if you want, but, feel it would be a temp fix as the baffles will be brittle and will probably break again.
If budget is an issue, I'd shop for a used set, then have them hacked when $$ allow. Phaff tuning sell their version $1200-$1300 +core

thanks for asking about this...I appreciate it. Not sure what route I want to go....was hoping for quick fix to existing parts - but not if it means I'll have the same problem later on. Thanks again

still debating which way to go, so I decided to give Pfaff Tuning a call....I certainly didn't get the 1200-1300 quote. Said the sport exhaust for my '99 C2 goes for 1699, 200 labour and Hst. Autowerks told me that if I wanted to bring in some used cans, they'd hack them for 1100. Mantis quoted me 1300 all in for barely used ones with the hack done.

Will let ya know which way I go. Ohhhh the decisions one has to make in life !

The Mantis guys have always been pretty good (at least to me and my cars ). I'm sure there a bit of room to haggle

When i did my Gundo hacks I bought a used set and kept the originals as spares or when i sold the car.....

Good luck!

I think Phaff tuning must use the same pricing model as Air Canada!!! I was quoted $1400 over the phone, web has $1299, I paid $1200 cash out the door...Mantis sounds like a option too...

talked to Darin at Fister...looks like he's the winner. I think my only concern is that they use used mufflers....so it might be a bit of a gamble as to what you're going to get and how long they last (IMO). Hence the debate.

As for Mantis...I use them for all my routine service (and emergency service as well !) and used them exclusively when I had my 944. Great guys, very knowledgeable and spot on for pricing....I have no issues using them or recommending them for that matter.
