I'm new to Porsche cars, thought it was an import ;-)
I don't have a problem with the $$ at EU or Pfaff, just wondering
why other shops have been listed $1000 less. I'm trying to work thrugh
options for a exaust upgrade, keeping in mind two CELs for a bad cat.

If there's anyone in TO willing to demo exaust mods, I'd be
please let me know.

What other Shop? in the US? Duh its the US, everythings cheaper there...

Do you have CEL coz of your Cats? Are they Factory? You have 8 Year warranty on them from Factory, What year is yours?

I was quoted $1400=tax, I though that was reasonable for the work involved, then I found a post on another site For Zoro muffler, I think it was for $350!! I guess I'm missing something? IS there more than one mod??

CEL was form the right bank, cat beyond limit. No mods, to the car, Its an 03 C2 Dealer said it's not covered if it is physically damaged, would need to pull it off the car to confirm!!! CEL been off for 600km, If it comes back on I'll try the other dealership.

Fri-Sat are tough (wife, little ones, cottage) I hope to make a few anyways,

I'll be the silver 996 with the bump on top

There is 2 Ways to do it... the Cheap and Easy way is to Weld a L Pipe... The Propper Way to do it is to Weld the L Pipe and Open and Re-Work the Inside to give it a Proper Sound... Thats why its $1400, but thats still Kinda high... Is EU $1400 too? i dont think soo...

Which Dealer told you this Pfaff or DFC? If its Broken from Inside it will be covered for 8 Years from the In-Service Date of the Car... But they have to Inspect it First... Do you think its Physical Damage on the Exterior? If not you should be fine with Warranty... And if the Car is 100% There should be no reason why it wont be Covered...

 

2 ways to mod, that explains the large price range. $1400+ was EU, I was guessing $1000-$1200.

IT was a new service advisor at DFC, I don't think he's seen a cat problem before. An inspection will cost about $200. I haven't noticed any damage, and there's no rattle, I'll hold off on the inspection until I get a CEL. For now I'll save my mod fund incase aftermarket cats!!!

Ok this is what you do, next time your CEL comes on you go to Pfaff and talk to Jimmy V as service... He will say there maybe a Inspection Charge but If which is most likly Covered and Replaced Under Emmisions Warranty, You will pay $0

DCF is known to **** people off... Lack of Knowledge
