Smart to trade a six speed for a tip?

I currently have a 996 turbo 6 speed. Problem is the wife can't drive it. Does anybody else have the same problem? Or have a tiptronic and wish they had a 6 speed? Just throwing it out there. It's pretty tough selling these cars up here.

I'm sorry. Is that a bad thing?

Maybe post more details on your car...

What about teaching your wife to drive standard (not on the Turbo!) and that way you can keep your car and your wife!

big_willy is infamous around these parts
Both the tip and 6 speed serve a purpose. If this is your DD - and most driving is done in the city (traffic jams, stop and go traffic, stop signs and stop lights), then I would say go for the tip.

If this car is a weekend/good weather car to be driven in the country side or on the track - 6speed all the way. You do have better control of the car with a manual and it's definitely more fun (most of the time).

I love both, since to me they both serve a purpose.

Why not just make her drive the Cayenne?

I haven't driven the tip, but I driven the PDK..gladly trade my 6speed in for it if I was in your situation..

There is a big difference though, the tip is a run of the mill slush box automatic, the pdk is a twin clutch.
I would still rather have my manual though

Sounds like you've already come up with your answer.

Yeah I suppose. Worst case scenario I keep it and drive it.
