New Guy (with a question)
Hey Guys! First time Porsche owner... a new (to me)
2004 Cayenne S
Jamara
Light Wood Package
50,000km
(pics to come)
So far I have had the bypass and muffler done. I found a local guy who made custom bypass pipes and installed 2 Magnaflow mufflers for about $1000 CAD (instead of $4000 at the dealer). Sounds awesome and seems to have given more low end (sound clip to come).
Here is the question.
Has anyone had any downshifting vibrations after installing an aftermarket exhaust? This was only noticeable after the exhaust work and after about a week has seem to improve a lot but still happens in some scenarios. Mostly when coming off of the gas and not braking, right around 60km/h.
Is this due to less back pressure? Will the ecu eventually 'learn' about the new exhaust?
Thanks,
Luke

Welcome to the forum and I've done exhausts work to my car and very satisfied, the only drawback to the Cayenne are faulty electronics ie Panaromic roof getting stuck, PCM freezing and parkingsensors not working in most occassions.
update...
so I am finally registered and can now reply to posts.
turns out that there wasn't enough back pressure which caused issues with the auto tranny and its downshifting for engine braking. i added 2 resonators and it has helped a lot, a bit less sound but 99% of the vibration is gone.
all of the work was done at Scott's Hot Rod - these guys do awesome work, pm me for more details
btw - it was pfaff quoting $4k+
