Trading my FX45 for Cayenne S, anyone else do the same?
Just curious if anyone has gone from an Infiniti FX45 to a Cayenne S? I like my FX45, but its time for another car. Considering I have a 996TT, it would be fun to buy another Porsche vehicle. Prices seem to be relatively low when searching for higher mileage of 40K miles plus, so a trade and a bit of cash seems ideal for me financially.
Anyways, anyone regret this scenario if it has been done? Anyone drive a FX45 before purchasing their Cayenne? And lastly, I'm assuming the 'S' would be the only way to go, cause I don't want to go down in power.
Thanks for any tips.., I'm slowly starting my search now. Not too many for sale at dealerships in my local area. Anyways, heres a pic of my FX

FX will feel lighter....Cayenne feels "more solid".....both are about the same in the power department i feel...but the CS motor seems to grunt a bit more...idk...i have driven many FXs and i really like the Cayenne S a lot more.
I would DEF suggest lowering the Cayenne tho...in my experience with my H&R susp it has made the truck a lot more fun on the backroads...esp in tip mode.
Best of luck....cool looking FX btw

I have no complaints with my FX45.., in fact I think its quicker than an "s". I believe my '03 had the best track times of all SUV's (aside from SRT8 and the Cayenne Turbo) etc, until they softened it up a bit in '04. Regardless, I really enjoy the car but I want something new. It would be fun to have two Porsches in the garage.
Anyways, I'm hoping to find an 'S' in the price range of $30K. I've seen quite a few at $33-34K, but I'm in no hurry.
Are their differences to the interior or exterior of the 'S' in different years. I'm trying to research it, but can't find much. I thought I read that they changed the rear bumper. Anything else?
Thanks,
Bojan

The Fx45 is faster than a cayenne S and thats probably due to the weight, I would reccomend you to go for a Cayenne turbo and if that move is financially un obtainable then settle for an ''s''.
Good luck with your next purchase and if there are any more questions feel free to ask.

If youre coming from an FX45 you need to jump to a Cayenne Turbo if you want more power.. but comparing the 2 , I would take the Cayenne S.. but dont expect anymore power from the CayenneS...but it is a better car in my opinion..
I raced a G35 with my old CayenneS on the way up to Lake Tahoe and he was having a hard time, hmmm i dont know how an fx45 can keep up

The RRS is very slugggish, but I think it looks better than the FX45/cayenne
You might want to go drive one. We had an FX45, and it was like a tall sports car. The Cayenne S is not even though it says Porsche on it. Try one before you buy one. both are nice cars, but for pure fun driving, the 45 will stop the S. On the up side, you can actually tow stuff with the Cayenne.
I was wondering how you guys were going to react to my question. The infiniti is a real nice car and I love the design w/ the way I customized it w/ aftermarket goodies. Some people don't like the design.., but we all can agree on the fact that it moves real good and is comparable if not better than the Cayenne S.
I would like to get the Cayenne TT but I'm not ready to have two expensive cars in the garage. I'll test the 'S' out this weekend and see what I think...
Thanks for the tips...!

I had 24 hr test drives of the FX45 and the Cayenne s prior to buying my S. From the test drive I decided I wanted the air suspension which gives it a huge edge on the 45.
I did not the the 45 was faster from the seat of the pants point of view.
